My friends (one NT, one dyslexic) keep trying to get me to go to club night at the Student Union, saying “it will be fun!”
Seeing as they combine people, loud noises, bright lights, warm, strong smells… I have my doubts.
(I did go to one once, it wasn’t too bad, but I’d drunk about half the week’s recommended amount of alcohol in one hour prior to going and then drank another pint once in. Then I felt sick. Alcohol does raise your ability to handle unpleasant situations, at the cost of your ability to not want to puke everywhere.)
I know a lot of NTs that don’t like clubbing for the same reasons, and everyone I’ve met at a club is under the influence. xD
BUT I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. Still it sounds like you had too much in anticipation of this event? There’s usually a comfortable medium between “I’m going to hurl” and “Weeee I’m so drunk I’m not overloading!”I spent a lot of time by myself figuring out what my comfort level was so I could drink in public without getting ragingly sick.
To everyone underage: avoid the clubs at all costs.
